ICE & GLOBAL WARMING
In 2024 Deb made a trip by yacht with a small group across the Atlantic from Iceland to the coast of Greenland.
Since the trip she often remembers this landscape so devoid of human and plant life, the calm and enormity of the place, the dripping changing cracking and breaking-up of the ice and feeling the wan warmth of the sun on a day that should not have been so warm.
The theme of the warming planet has already been explored in installations such as Souvent me Souviens, concerning flooding of the St Lawrence Seaway and its effect on the community of Ste. Flavie, Quebec. Several paintings about the ice have been produced and the theme of a global climatic change continues throughout her work. @debnaganstudio
