An intimate home/studio exhibition with ceramicist Stephanie Johnson
1 Pontypool Place, was designed by architects Nagan Johnson in 2016 and completed in 2018. The new-build home sits over the Victorian warehouse that was the architects office pre-covid. This unusual home, featured on the Modern House website, is the setting for a show of work by ceramicist Stephanie Johnson and painter/installation artist, Deb Nagan.
Deb Nagan works from her studio in Soho, London, and makes landscape scale installations in the UK and worldwide and small mixed-media works. She has recently been working on her largest landscape work in Saudi Arabia, and has created installations in Quebec, Toronto, France, Luxembourg and the UK.
The small works shown in this exhibition have three themes:
Travels: Cornwall and New York
Ice: The Impact of encountering icebergs floating off the coast of Greenland
The State of Nature: Reflections on biodiversity
Stephanie Johnson studied ceramics recently completing her Masters at the University of Bath. She lives and works in Gers, France.
