This picture was made on return from Iceland in 2024. On the day I came to leave, the temperature soared to 29.8deg. A bright blue sky was reflected azure in the mirror-still marshy pools on the coastal shelf south of Reykjavic. Lichens, normally chalky duck-green were rich sap-green and sparkling emerald. The photographs looked foreign, almost tropical. The colours were wrong for Iceland and the ice I had been witnessing, this was the weather melting the ice, whilst the airport staff basked in t-shirts.
Float mounted in white painted timber box frame of 25 x 15mm.
Framed size: 42.4 x 29.2 cms
